BEAUTIFUL DECAY - Anthology interview, Michael Berryhill

Link

Anybody in Houston with a video camera?

I've been shooting video of my band, Diagonals, tour with Octopus Project this month, but I haven't got any decent footage of Diagonals playing yet. Our last two shows are this Thursday and Friday- Fort Worth and Houston respectively. I'm wondering if anybody (multiple people would be awesome) is willing to videotape either of the shows, preferably the one in Houston which is at a place called Warehouse Live. Any footage you shoot would end up in the tour video I am working on and I would credit you and can probably float you a few dollars for videotapes if you want.

Brian Bress

Last night we stayed at the studio of Michael Berryhill's friend Brian Bress, who, to my amazement, is mining a similar vein of gestalt/perception/camouflage stuff that I have been interested in lately. His work is smart and has a good sense of humor. Check out his website: brianbress.com

Why won't the backers behind Ken Russell's masterpiece The Devils let us see the film in its complete form?

Get Your War On

From Bob Sabiston:

Hey All,

For those who are interested, they have started showing the "Get Your War On" animations now on 236.com. The second one is easiest to find, in red and white near the top of the page. The first one is on there somewhere, along with a 30-second promo:

www.236.com

This is the online version of David Rees' popular political comic, seen in Rolling Stone and other places. We animated a library of stock clips for them, and every week until the election they will have a new one on 236.com. They send us the edit and matching video of the actors each week and we are putting new mouths on the characters!

Alamo Drafthouse Music Monday: PERFORMANCE

Join us for this rare opportunity to see one of the touchstone films of the British Invasion. Mick Jagger plays himself, more or less, as a retired rock star who has sequestered himself in a London townhouse with two beautiful women (Anita Pallenberg and Michele Breton) completely immersing himself in a years-long orgy of sex, drugs and mysticism that is interrupted by a gangster (James Fox) whose fists and tough talk are no match for the labyrinth of strangeness he encounters. In the strange house, under the influence of the psychedelic drugs and such oddly seductive company the gangster begins to find his inner rock star and the rock star finds his inner gangster, culminating in the obscene and vicious song, "Memo From Turner" in which Jagger declaims what is basically a proto-gangster rap into the camera. Lush, decadent, brilliant - this is a must see!
